Heather Danysh, MHS, PhD, is a Research Epidemiologist at RTI-HS and has 12 years of epidemiologic research experience, with a primary focus on cancer, congenital anomalies, and child health outcomes. Dr. Danysh is experienced in managing large multidisciplinary teams for multiyear, multidatabase postauthorization drug safety studies, using data sources from the United States (US) and Europe. Prior to joining RTI-HS, she was research faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and an epidemiologist at the Texas Children’s Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she investigated factors associated with pediatric cancer risk with an emphasis on environmental exposures. Dr. Danysh has designed and coordinated state-based registry studies as well as clinic- and community-based observational and interventional studies. She is experienced in collaborating with external investigators and state departments of health. As a project manager, she has led research teams in human subjects’ regulatory compliance, questionnaire development, participant recruitment, data management, statistical data analysis and interpretation, and manuscript preparation for both US-based and international projects.
