Veena Hoffman has over 15 years of experience in the design, conduct, and reporting of pharmacoepidemiologic studies using administrative claims and electronic health data sources. Ms. Hoffman has led drug-safety and effectiveness studies across several therapeutic and disease areas. In her director role in epidemiology at RTI-HS, she brings experience in the development and validation of claims-based exposure and outcome algorithms, conducting data source feasibility assessments, and producing epidemiologic reports for orphan drug applications. Ms. Hoffman has managed and coordinated multicenter postmarketing authorization safety studies with research partners and other key stakeholders in the United States and Europe.

 

Prior to joining RTI-HS, Ms. Hoffman worked as an epidemiologist for a large health services company and a healthcare technology company. She is a member of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology and has served as a reviewer for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety and other peer-reviewed journals. Ms. Hoffman also serves as an advisor for the National Death Index within the United States National Center for Health Statistics.
