Kate Nelson has more than 10 years of project management, risk evaluation and mitigation, change management, and process redesign experience. She has experience in supporting a wide range of studies in the United States and Europe, including large observational burden-of-illness studies; panel-based knowledge, attitude, and practice surveys; multinational noninterventional postauthorization safety studies, and patient-reported outcomes studies. Ms. Nelson’s therapeutic experience includes infectious disease (AIDS/HIV), oncology (breast and non–small cell lung), vaccines, respiratory, neurological disease (Parkinson’s disease), women’s health, autoimmune disease, and kidney disease. Ms. Nelson’s project experience includes study design and implementation, protocol development, questionnaire development and pretesting, patient and site recruitment, investigator and study coordinator training, facilitating institutional review board and ethics board reviews, management of data collection activities, and analyzing and reporting study results. She has managed electronic data collection efforts and has worked on several data collection projects involving multidisciplinary and multinational teams. Ms. Nelson has moderated qualitative interviews with a variety of patient populations. Ms. Nelson’s other responsibilities on projects have included financial management, vendor and consultant management, and review of documentation for quality-control purposes.
