Carla Franzoni is an Epidemiology Project Manager at RTI-HS, with over 13 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with the coordination and management of multiple types of international research projects.
Ms. Franzoni is a proactive, analytical and results-oriented professional, with robust communication skills and a strong focus on client support and on the collaboration with research partners, including multidisciplinary academic and clinical investigators as well as other contract research organizations. She has extensive experience in the different phases of the planning and implementation of pharmacoepidemiology projects such as proposal development, contract negotiation support, timeline and team management, financial planning and monitoring, data protection and ethics compliance, quality control and assurance, client and subcontractor management, and reporting of study progress to study sponsors and to regulatory agencies.
Projects in which Ms. Franzoni has been involved include feasibility and pilot evaluations, and a variety of multinational postapproval safety studies (PASS) in several therapeutic areas and settings. These range from large multinational retrospective observational studies using secondary data analysis to multisite prospective studies using other data collection approaches, supporting activities such as site and patient recruitment, investigator training, data collection, data monitoring and management aspects.
In addition to projects for the pharmaceutical industry, Ms. Franzoni has been in coordination roles in two multinational studies on drug safety funded by the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP-7) in collaboration with a number of leading research institutions in Europe and North America.
Ms. Franzoni was involved in the establishment of the RTI-HS Barcelona office in 2007, and has been managing the site administration team since 2008, in addition to her regular project-focused responsibilities.
Prior to joining RTI-HS, MS. Franzoni was a consultant Project and Team Coordinator for the Global Epidemiology, Safety, and Risk Management department at Pfizer.
