He has extensive experience integrating implementation science methodologies into drug development, clinical trial design, and healthcare delivery models. His work has helped pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organizations anticipate and address adoption challenges, refine patient engagement strategies, and optimize real-world evidence generation.
At RTI-HS, Dr. Messina leads a team that collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and execute research that enhances patient-centered outcomes and ensures that healthcare innovations are effectively implemented. His expertise in behavioral insights, health policy, and evidence generation supports clients in demonstrating value and driving meaningful change.
Prior to joining RTI Health Solutions, Dr. Messina led the development of strategic consulting efforts focused on expanding patient-centered solutions, mixed-methods research, clinical trial enhancement, operational readiness assessments, and planning for clinical trial patient engagement. He has worked across therapeutic areas, including oncology, transfusion medicine, and cell therapy, leveraging qualitative and quantitative research approaches to inform evidence-based solutions.
