Learn the basics of the 6-step approach for developing budget impact analyses. This primer is on the 6 basic steps for estimating budget impact:
- estimating the eligible population uptake;
- selecting a time horizon;
- identifying current and projected treatment mix;
- estimating current and future drug costs;
- estimating change in disease-related costs; and
- estimating and presenting changes in annual budget impact and health outcomes.
This is an ISPOR short course. The course is designed for those with some experience with pharmacoeconomic analysis who would like a primer on the 6 steps for budget impact analysis or for individuals taking the course titled Budget Impact Analysis II: Applications and Design Issues on December 4-5.
