Josephine Mauskopf Recognized by ISPOR For Extraordinary Leadership

The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) announced yesterday that it had recognized Josephine Mauskopf, PhD, Vice President of Health Economics at RTI Health Solutions, for her extraordinary leadership to the Society.  Dr. Mauskopf has been awarded the Marilyn Dix Smith Leadership Award.

Marilyn’s energy and vision were an inspiration for me over the years and I feel honored to receive this award that bears her name.”  

Mauskopf served for eight years as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Value in Health and four years as a reviewer on the Health Care Technology and Decision Sciences Study Section at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. In 2014, she was elected to the ISPOR Board of Directors and served a two-year term. 

Mauskopf and colleagues developed pre-meeting ISPOR courses in Budget Impact Analysis that have been taken by many ISPOR meeting participants over the past 15+ years. She also co-chaired two ISPOR Task Forces on Budget Impact Analysis and co-chaired an ISPOR Task Force on Economic Evaluations for Vaccination Programs

Mauskopf has made significant and long-lasting contributions to the science of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research. In 2013 she was awarded the Avedis Donabedian Outcomes Research Lifetime Achievement Award by ISPOR. Mauskopf received the ISPOR Award for Excellence in Application of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research in 2006. 

We, along with ISPOR, celebrate Josephine Mauskopf and her commitment to pharmacoeconomic research. Dr. Mauskopf will be participating in the ViH Spotlight Session at the ISPOR Annual Meeting on Monday, 20 May 2019, 2:15 – 3:15 pm: Back to the future in Value in Health.
