Gabrielle Dardis, PhD, is a Medical Writer in the Medical Writing, Editing, and Design Services group with RTI-HS. Dr. Dardis collaborates with researchers across therapeutic fields to plan and develop publications highlighting their work. Key therapeutics areas of expertise include oncology. Prior to joining RTI-HS, Dr. Dardis researched oncogenic crosstalk between epigenetic and inflammatory signaling pathways, specific to triple negative breast cancer during her thesis work at UNC Chapel Hill. She has also researched nonapoptotic cell death pathways in triple negative breast cancer during a laboratory rotation at UNC Chapel Hill, metabolic pathway targeting in osteosarcoma cells over summer internships at The Pennsylvania State University Cancer Institute, and joint development in the zebrafish tailfin during her undergraduate career at Lehigh University. Dr. Dardis discovered a passion for science communication during her time at UNC Chapel Hill. In addition to communicating research at local and external meetings, she regularly edited for blogs including OncoBites and UNC Science Writing and Communication (SWAC) club’s The Pipettepen, held leadership positions for SWAC and the local chapter of the ComSciCon conference, and completed an internship and freelance work at a medical communications agency.
