Yuanhui Zhang, PhD, is a Senior Research Health Economist at RTI-HS. Dr. Zhang is experienced in developing health economic models and conducting cost-effectiveness, budget-impact analyses, and value-based pricing modeling for pharmaceutical products, particularly in the therapeutic area of endocrinology (type 2 diabetes), oncology (breast and skin cancer), respiratory (asthma), neurology (Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis), and vaccines (respiratory syncytial virus and herpes zoster). Her methodological expertise lies in the areas of sequential decision making and optimization with application to medicine. Dr. Zhang received her PhD and Master’s degrees in Operations Research from North Carolina State University and a BSc in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Zhejiang University in China. Prior to joining RTI-HS, she worked as a Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellow in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she developed Markov models to evaluate the health and economic benefits of implementing public health policies for skin cancer prevention. She also worked as a research intern in the Division of Health Care Policy and Research at the Mayo Clinic where she gained extensive data analysis and modeling experience using large payer- and provider-based administrative data sets and electronic medical records.
