Rikal Bhaila, MPH, is an Evidence-Based Medicine Specialist at RTI-HS in the Manchester, UK office. He completed his Master's degree in public health from the University of Manchester and conducted a systematic review looking at the effects of yoga on type 2 diabetes as part of his dissertation. Mr. Bhaila was a data coder for the Cochrane Dementia and Cognitive Improvement Group and also contributed to CENTRAL by helping to maintain the register of randomized and clinically controlled trials. He also led a research project for Healthwatch Manchester to identify the needs of the patients attending the accident and emergency department of a local hospital. He completed his undergraduate degree in health care management and, prior to joining RTI HS, worked for several nongovernmental organizations, namely the Portage and Rehabilitation Association of Nepal and the Family Planning Association of Nepal, covering various duties such as teaching young people with physical and learning disabilities, assisting in activities of daily living, organizing mobile camps, and educating the youth about sexual and reproductive health.
