Miguel Cainzos, MD, MPH, is a Research Epidemiologist at RTI-HS with a background in Cardiology and Epidemiology. Dr. Cainzos did his MD at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). During this period he held leadership positions including the Presidency of the Spanish Medical Student Council (CEEM). He trained as a cardiologist in Barcelona and as an epidemiologist in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD, where he completed a Masters of Public Heath with a concentration in Biostatistics / Epidemiology, and a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Cainzos has completed training stays in the Institut Hospital del Mar de Investigacions Mediques (IMIM, Barcelona), the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research (Johns Hopkins University), and the Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease (Johns Hopkins Medicine), with which he currently collaborates on a number of academic research projects in the field of cardiovascular epidemiology and preventive cardiology. Dr. Cainzos is part of the Epidemiology group and provides cardiovascular expertise to RTI-HS.
