Megan Thomas, MTSC, is a PMP-certified Project Manager in the Surveys and Observational Studies group within RTI-HS. At RTI-HS, she has over 11 years of experience in project, portfolio, vendor, and task management for national and international pharmaceutical research study teams. Prior to joining RTI-HS, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry in project coordination and writing/editing roles for scientific communications and manufacturing. Since joining RTI-HS in 2007, she has been a project manager for project start-up, maintenance, and closure, including managing timelines, tracking project scope/budget, facilitating stakeholder communications/meetings, and conducting the quality review process for deliverables.

Since 2010, Ms. Thomas has also been an assistant data collection manager for a national patient registry study where she reviewed study data; managed study vendors; and communicated with patients about their questions, study forms, and adverse events. For a clinical trial, she reviewed and coordinated revisions to study sites' local and central institutional review board (IRB) packages and conducted site recruitment. She has developed IRB submissions, interview guides, and screening materials to support focus group and patient interviews.

For 10 years, Ms. Thomas managed the monthly collection and assimilation of RTI-S staff publications for executive leadership and the publication coordinators team efforts. She led the initiative to develop a successful, searchable database of staff publications with and for internal stakeholders. She participates in and has presented at the RTI-HS Project Management Community of Practice meetings. Ms. Thomas also participates on the Proposal Setup Team and has contributed to several successful proposals. Ms. Thomas served as AMWA Carolinas Chapter's Secretary and Executive Committee member from 2013 to 2014. She has a background in technical writing, endocrinology laboratory research, and graphics development for reports/presentations.
