Mayank Ajmera, PhD, is a Health Outcomes Scientist at RTI-HS. Dr. Ajmera received a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy where he attained extensive training in health outcomes and health services research. His doctoral dissertation focused on examining the impact of multimorbidity on health outcomes among Medicaid beneficiaries with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as evaluating the novel treatment options for patients with COPD. He also has experience in designing and conducting retrospective observational studies. Dr. Ajmera has worked on a variety of research projects that involved analyzing secondary databases, including retrospective health care administrative claims data, nationally representative survey data, and electronic medical records. He has conducted research projects that examined treatment patterns, medication adherence, drug safety, and clinical and economic outcomes associated with drug utilization. Several of his research projects also involved evaluating quality of health care and estimating overall burden of the disease. Dr. Ajmera has considerable experience in using advanced econometric techniques. He has worked in a number of therapeutic areas including COPD, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, mental health disorders, multiple sclerosis, and multimorbidity.

Dr. Ajmera's research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of General Internal Medicine, International Journal of COPD, Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, Patient Education and Counseling, and International Journal of Family Medicine. Dr. Ajmera has extensively presented his research at national and international conferences, including the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, American Managed Care Pharmacy, American Diabetes Association, Society of Behavioral Medicine, and American Public Health Association. Moreover, Dr. Ajmera has provided peer review for journals including BMC Pulmonary Medicine, Drugs & Aging, and International Journal of COPD.
