Jeff Luce, PharmD, Director of Business Development at RTI-HS, provides support of the business development activities for the entire portfolio of RTI-HS services. During a diverse career that has spanned more than 30 years, Dr. Luce has had a variety of positions and roles in the life science industry. His experience includes medical and device sales, medical and drug information, managed care, clinical trials, and drug safety pharmacovigilance. In his current role, he is working with RTI-HS research teams to respond to and support the needs and goals of RTI-HS clients.

Dr. Luce is a pharmacist who began his career in 1982 working with Merck as a pharmaceutical representative in Chicago, IL. In 1983, he joined Howmedica, an orthopedic implant division of Pfizer, serving over the next 10 years in Peoria, IL, as a medical liaison, consulting on over 800 total joint and trauma surgeries. In 1993, he joined Ask the Pharmacist, a nationally known leader in the provision of medical and drug information services, as Director of Pharmacy Services. After obtaining his PharmD at Campbell University in 1997, he was selected as one of two students for an internship with the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy in Sacramento, CA, and then completed a 1-year fellowship in health economics and outcomes research focused on comparative effectiveness research studies. Dr. Luce served as a Clinical Pharmacist at BlueCross BlueShield NC, chairing the P&T Committee and Pharmacy Committee and developing a three-tier drug formulary and managed prior authorization programs. He then joined PPD Medical Communications first as Executive Director of Medical Communications, where he led a team of medical writers, and then as Executive Director of Business Development. Dr. Luce then joined IMS Health as Director of Business Development in Philadelphia, PA, where he was responsible for business development roles in drug safety risk management, European electronic medical records data and analytics, and health economics and outcomes research. Over the past 10 years, Dr. Luce has had a variety of Director of Business Development roles in data and analytics companies, including GE Healthcare, DaVita, Archimedes, Truven Health Analytics, and Practice Fusion.
