RTI-HS researcher Emily Reese, PhD, MPH, was invited to speak about budget impact models (BIM) to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ISPOR student chapter. Dr. Reese was the 2012-13 ISPOR Student Network Chair, responsible for providing oversight to ISPOR’s 60 student chapters worldwide. These chapters provide a forum for students to share knowledge in pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research and serve as a bridge in bringing students together with members of the pharmaceutical industry, health care organizations and academia.

Dr. Reese presented Budget Impact Analysis: Who, What, Why, and How; introducing the basics of BIMs—including an interactive demonstration of a clopidogrel-prasugrel budget impact model.
